On Wednesday in Washington, Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced that US President Donald Trump has invited him to the upcoming G20 summit to be held in Florida.
Nawrocki made this announcement during a press conference at Blair House, the residence for visiting dignitaries located across from the White House.
In 2026, the United States will chair the G20, with the summit set to take place at Trump's resort in Doral, near Miami.
Martin Przidach, head of Nawrocki's Bureau of International Policy, stated that this invitation marks a first step in Poland's efforts to join the G20.
However, as noted by TVP, Trump's invitation does not guarantee Poland's membership in the group. For instance, Spain is regularly invited to the summits despite not being a member of the G20. Many other countries have also participated in summits as guest attendees.
Nawrocki emphasized that during his meeting at the White House, he invited Trump to visit Poland, although a specific date for the visit has not been set. He did not rule out the possibility that the visit could occur next year.
