In August, the deadline for providing housing assistance to certain internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the most vulnerable categories, who received it over the past three six-month periods, expired. However, the government has decided to extend these payments for another six months, until February 2026.

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.

The assistance applies to individuals with disabilities of groups I - III, families with children under 18 years old (up to 23 years if the children are studying), as well as families consisting solely of non-working individuals.

Furthermore, there have been changes in the procedure for assigning housing assistance for IDPs:

having funds in a deposit account exceeding 100,000 UAH will no longer be an obstacle to providing assistance to orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children temporarily placed with relatives, acquaintances, foster families, or family-type children's homes;

if a non-working able-bodied person registers at an employment center as unemployed after the cessation of their assistance payment within the same six-month period, the payment will be renewed (from the month the person starts working).

The continuation of payments will occur automatically, and no additional application is necessary.

The agency also reminded that the payment amounts are:

  • 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
  • 3,000 UAH - for one child or an IDP with a disability.

Assistance is provided monthly for each family member of IDPs from vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
