Border guards from the Mukachevo Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine discovered pieces of a human skeleton near the border with Romania, which appear to have been damaged by wild animals.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.

The skeleton fragments were found near Mount Frasin. Alongside the bones, pieces of clothing, documents, a camouflage backpack, and a bag were discovered. The documents belonged to a 36-year-old man from Luhansk region, who was detained by border guards in November 2023 for attempting to illegally cross into Romania. At that time, he was fined by the Khust District Court.

Experts will determine the cause of death. Border guards have informed the National Police about the remains found. Additionally, a human skeleton was recently discovered in the mountains of Ivano-Frankivsk region by the Shybeny border patrol, but no identifying documents were found.
