In December, Ukraine will introduce a Register of Areas Contaminated or Likely Contaminated with Explosive Devices, as announced by Igor Klymenko in an interview with «Unified News».

The meeting with the film crew and the Minister of Internal Affairs took place in Cherkasy during training exercises by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Igor Klymenko emphasized that since the onset of full-scale war, the SES has cleared over 250,000 hectares of our territory, removing and destroying 790,000 explosive devices.

The Minister also highlighted that specialists are working hard to ensure that the Register of Contaminated Areas will commence operations and be accessible to legal entities by the beginning of 2026. After testing and implementation, access will also be granted to individuals who hold ownership rights, lease agreements, etc., for specific land plots.

Additionally, while near the location where SES divers are trained, the Minister discussed plans to increase the staff of this unit to 500 people. This is a crucial component of the demining ecosystem:

«The demining ecosystem can be divided into several levels: Office for Mine Action, Humanitarian Demining Center, certification of specialists, underwater demining. Such a system is already established and operational», — remarked Igor Klymenko.
