A tragic car accident occurred in the Okhtyrka region of Sumy Oblast, leading to the loss of two lives and injuring three others.
This information was shared by the Sumy regional police on social media.
“Today, around 08:40, police received reports of a fatal car accident in the village of Boromlya in the Okhtyrka district. An investigative team was dispatched to the scene immediately. Preliminary investigations revealed that a collision occurred between a Ford Focus driven by a 23-year-old and a Volkswagen Caddi driven by a 39-year-old man on the Sumi-Poltava road,” the statement said.
According to the report, the driver of the Volkswagen and a 14-year-old passenger in the Ford Focus died at the scene. The driver of the Ford Focus and two of his passengers, including a minor, were hospitalized.
The vehicles have been seized and placed in a police holding area.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety rules). The investigation is ongoing.
