In the Desnyansky District of Kyiv, new initiatives are being implemented to enhance pedestrian crossings, making them more accessible for all citizens. According to the Kyiv City State Administration's Transport Infrastructure Department, this year, workers from the KP SHEU in the Desnyansky District have lowered curbs at 29 pedestrian crossings.
"Additionally, tactile navigation for visually impaired individuals has been installed, new road markings have been applied, and the most damaged sections of the asphalt pavement have been repaired," the department stated.
These measures enhance road safety and create comfortable conditions for all pedestrians.
Recently, the staff of KP SHEU in the Desnyansky District also established a barrier-free space near the Administrative Services Center on Red Kalyna Avenue, 29.
They created accessible approaches to 4 public transport stops, set up a parking pocket with designated spots for people with disabilities and their companions, and restored the pavement of sidewalks.
