The government has approved a series of initiatives aimed at improving conditions for veterans, including support for a bill that outlines the foundations of state policy regarding veterans.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel.

“Today, we took an important step in support of our defenders. During the government meeting, we addressed veteran policy issues and adopted several decisions,” she stated.

Svyrydenko noted that the new bill defines the statuses for veterans and their families, as well as guarantees medical, educational, social, and legal support.

In addition, veteran spaces will be created, services funded by the state budget, and memorialization of fallen heroes will be included. The Prime Minister emphasized that all existing benefits remain valid.

“We also supported legislation concerning individuals who defended the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We expect their adoption in the fall as part of the Code of Laws on Defenders,” she added.

A significant number of servicemen with confirmed combat experience or combat veterans will be integrated into the Office of the President.
