The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, participated in the annual «August-2025» conference organized by the Ministry of Education. Among the attendees were Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi.
In her speech, Olena Zelenska emphasized that teachers, even during online classes, play a crucial role in restoring a sense of normalcy for children and their families.
She shared information about initiatives supporting children and youth, including accessibility, school nutrition reform, and the mental health program «How are you?».
Olena Zelenska noted that education is one of the priorities of her Foundation.
«In areas where safety allows, we are creating shelters for classrooms. We assist students and teachers with technology for distance learning, and in collaboration with the «School of Superheroes», we are expanding educational opportunities for children undergoing treatment,» she added.
The First Lady also announced that the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen will focus on education and its impact on the future.
«According to our «Future Index» research, 82% of Ukrainian teenagers are hopeful about their future, despite the war,» she noted.
This year's conference brought together over 500 participants, including educators, administrators, and representatives of international organizations. They discussed the transformation of the education system in Ukraine and its adaptation to modern challenges.
