The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has introduced a new national standard governing radioiodine therapy for patients with differentiated thyroid cancer.

This information has been confirmed by the ministry.

Previously, Ukrainian doctors followed international protocols.

The updated document, created by Ukrainian specialists, takes into account the specific conditions and resources of the country. The Ministry emphasizes that this will enable more timely, safe, and effective treatment, boosting the confidence of Ukrainian physicians. The standard was developed by a team of radionuclide specialists from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa, coordinated by Oksana Solodyannikova – a professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and head of the department of radionuclide diagnostics and therapy at the National Cancer Institute.

"This is further evidence that Ukrainian medicine is advancing confidently, even in the most challenging times," the Ministry states.
