By the end of 2025, Ukraine intends to restore 3.2 GW of damaged energy infrastructure, as reported by Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk.

She stated that most of these facilities have already been repaired, with all work expected to be completed by the end of the year. This announcement was made during the presentation of the government's action program in Kyiv, according to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

Hrynchuk emphasized the importance of protecting energy facilities, particularly through enhanced air defense systems, with various stakeholders involved in this effort.

She noted that key tasks for preparing for the 2025/2026 heating season include maximizing repairs and restoration of energy facilities, accumulating natural gas and coal, and developing distributed generation.

At the beginning of the heating season, Ukraine must accumulate at least 13.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The minister also mentioned that 600 MW of distributed generation capacity is expected to be put into operation in 2025, with 350 MW in the public sector and approximately 500 MW in the private sector.
