The President of Ukraine has arrived in Washington for scheduled meetings with the US president and European leaders.

He announced this on his Telegram channel.

"I am already in Washington. Tomorrow I will meet with President Trump. We will also discuss matters with European leaders. I am grateful for the invitation," the publication states.

We all equally want to quickly and reliably end this war, emphasizes Volodymyr Zelensky. Peace must be lasting, unlike years ago when Ukraine was forced to give up Crimea and part of our East – a part of Donbas, and Putin used this merely as a springboard for a new attack. Or when Ukraine was supposedly given «security guarantees» in 1994, which did not work. Of course, it was not wise to give up Crimea back then, just as after 2022, Ukrainians did not give up Kyiv, Odesa, or Kharkiv.

"Ukrainians are fighting for their land, for their independence. Our soldiers are currently achieving successes in Donetsk and Sumy regions. I am confident we will defend Ukraine, effectively guarantee security, and our people will always be grateful to President Trump, everyone in America, and every partner for their support and invaluable assistance. Russia must end this war, which it started itself. I hope our joint strength with America and our European friends will compel Russia to a real peace," the President stressed.

As previously reported, a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump is scheduled for Monday in the Oval Office. Additionally, a visit from European leaders to the White House is anticipated to discuss potential avenues for ending the war in Ukraine.
