Ukrzaliznytsia has blocked 271 accounts that were abusing the app by purchasing tickets in bulk.

The users of these accounts attempted to use the UZ app, designed for individual ticket purchases, for other purposes:

• creating multiple linked accounts to bypass blocks by purchasing a minimal number of tickets;
• attempting to hold tickets without proceeding to payment (apparently waiting for an “order”);
• buying numerous tickets under different names and engaging in other actions flagged by the anti-fraud system.

“In line with practices of financial institutions, Ukrzaliznytsia has strengthened customer identification and deployed a monitoring system for anomalous user activities when using our online services,” the statement reads.
