The Ontario Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of the victims of the PS752 crash, ordering the airline UIA to pay the necessary compensations.

According to a report by a Ukrinform correspondent, this is stated in the court's order.

“I dismiss the appeal and order the appellant to cover the respondents' legal costs,” the document states.

International law requires airlines to compensate each passenger up to $180,000 in case of proven liability. The amount can be increased if the airline is found negligent.

Last year, the Ontario court determined that UIA acted negligently by failing to conduct a proper risk assessment before the flight from Tehran. This ruling stripped UIA of its right to limit compensation to the victims of the PS752 crash.

The Ontario Court of Appeal refused to alter this ruling.
