On August 7, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump called for Lip-Bu Tan, the CEO of Intel, to resign. However, less than a week later, he reversed his stance and began to express admiration for Tan’s leadership story.
In a new post on Truth Social, Trump stated that he met with Lip-Bu Tan alongside Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.
The discussions likely revolved around Tan's connections to China, which initially prompted Trump to request his resignation. Following Trump’s first post, Tan addressed Intel employees, asserting his love for the U.S. and Intel, describing his role as a privilege.
Tan also promptly expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Trump administration, dismissing accusations regarding ties to Chinese government-related companies as misinformation.
