A presentation of a new book by Oleksandr Tereshchenko, a defender of the Donetsk airport, took place in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. His work, titled «Life After 16:30. Seven Years Later», has been published in Braille and audio format.
The event was attended by Lesya Petrivska, the Commissioner of the Kyiv City Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Lesya Petrivska emphasized: «The author, Oleksandr Tereshchenko, defended the Donetsk airport in 2014, and as a result of his injuries, he lost vision in one eye, his right arm, and the wrist of his left hand. However, he did not lose faith in himself and became an example of courage and resilience. Listening to him, you feel that inner strength is greater than any loss. His story serves as an inspiration not only for veterans but for all of us – to believe in ourselves, support each other, and never give up. The book shares real-life experiences that can uplift others. Oleksandr speaks honestly about his pain and losses, but he also understands the importance of connection and support. Such books are crucial for veterans, encouraging them to speak out and seek help. It is wonderful that this publication is accessible for people with visual impairments. This is an important step in the right direction».
