The experts at the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council warn of an impending escalation of Russian propaganda focusing on the topic of protests in Ukraine over the next two weeks.

This information was published on the official CPD Facebook page.

"It is expected that hostile media will disseminate false narratives claiming that the Ukrainian people allegedly demand 'capitulation', 'overthrow of the government', and 'ending the war at any cost'," the report states.

Additionally, an intensification of information operations against residents of frontline regions in Ukraine is anticipated.

"In particular, fake reports about the supposed evacuation of military administration personnel and provocative 'leaks' impersonating Ukrainian military or local authorities will be circulated to intimidate people and create an impression of the collapse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's defense," the CPD noted.

It is also expected that Russian actors will continue information manipulations — from attempts to discredit Ukraine in the context of negotiations in Istanbul to promoting the topic of prisoner exchanges and undermining trust in Ukrainian air defense forces.

Furthermore, Russian media are spreading a fake narrative that Ukrainian servicemen released from Russian captivity allegedly face criminal prosecutions for desertion.
