The Starlink satellite network has resumed service following a major outage that lasted approximately two and a half hours, impacting communication stability, especially in combat zones.
This was reported by the company’s vice president, Michael Nichols, in X, along with the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' UAV units, Robert Brody "Madyar".
Nichols stated: "The outage was caused by a failure of critical internal software services that support the network's operation. We apologize for the temporary disruption of our service; we are committed to ensuring a highly reliable network and will fully resolve this issue to prevent future occurrences".
According to Commander Brody, communication was restored across all fronts roughly between 00:35 and 01:05.
He mentioned that combat operations continued during the outage without broadcasts, using strike assets for reconnaissance.
Brody said: "Combat operations were conducted without broadcasts; reconnaissance using strike assets. This incident, which lasted a long 150 minutes during wartime, highlights communication bottlenecks. We need to consider and diversify communication methods".
