The company "Ukrtransgaz", the operator of Ukraine's gas storage facilities, has conducted vertical seismic profiling for the first time to develop 3D models of gas storages.

This was reported by the company’s press service.

"We have looked deep underground to obtain a clear "image" of the geological structure, based on which we model our storage facilities. This is essential for a better understanding of how underground gas storages operate and how to manage them safely and efficiently," explained Ukrtransgaz.

The research was carried out at the Bilche-Volytsko-Uherske gas storage facility in the Lviv region by the geophysicists of Ukrtransgaz in cooperation with the service company "Horizons" and experts from the Gas Transportation Institute.
