Following the successful completion of its modernization, the AN-124-100 aircraft belonging to «Antonov» has been relocated to Germany.
This was reported by the press service of JSC «Antonov» on social media.
«JSC «Antonov» has concluded a lengthy and complex project of deep modernization of one of its iconic transport aircraft, AN-124-100 serial number 0706. On July 11, 2025, «Ruslan» was safely transferred to Germany,» the official statement reads.
This aircraft, manufactured in 1994, has accumulated over 21,000 flight hours and more than 5,500 flights. The modernization process began in 2021. The primary aim was to replace components previously made in Russia with modern parts from Western and Ukrainian manufacturers.
Due to the full-scale aggression of Russia in 2022, the work was partially halted, and at that time the aircraft was in disassembled condition. The team managed to resume work and completed the modernization in June 2025.
«The relocation of «Ruslan» has become not just a technical decision but a symbol of resilience and professionalism among Ukrainian aircraft builders. The upgraded «Ruslan» will continue to fly and serve Ukraine on an international scale,» the company added.
Currently, the company's aviation fleet is in safe conditions, following internal safety protocols.
As previously reported, JSC «Antonov» was awarded by The Heavy Lift Group (THLG) for its contribution to the development of the global market for heavy and oversized transportation.
