Lviv is facing flooding issues as a result of heavy rainfall. The Zubra River continues to overflow its banks.
This was reported by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, on Facebook.
"Flooding continues in Lviv due to the heavy rains. In some areas, water levels have reached nearly 3 meters — this concerns non-residential zones. The Zubra River is still exceeding its banks," the statement reads.
There is a threat of flooding in parts of the Frankivsk, Sykhiv, and Railway districts.
The mayor urged residents to move their belongings from basements to safe areas and to relocate vehicles from underground parking and potentially dangerous locations.
"City services are operating in an enhanced mode. Please be cautious and take care of yourselves," Sadovyi wrote.
According to the Lviv City Council, tram routes No. 4 and No. 8 have been altered due to flooding.
"Trams No. 4 and No. 8 are temporarily running to the stop 'Dovzhenko Cinema' due to flooding of the tram line on the section Chukaryna — Vernadskyi (as a result of the rising water level in the Zubra River)," the statement said.
City officials noted that over 115% of the monthly rainfall norm fell in Lviv overnight.
