Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds), as of the morning of July 8, 701 settlements in six regions of Ukraine experienced partial or complete power outages.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
Repair crews from the regional energy companies are currently working to fix the damage. It is expected that all affected consumers will have their power restored by the end of the day.
Additionally, according to the company's data, as of 9:30 on July 8, electricity consumption was 6.4% higher than at the same time the previous day.
The reason for this increase is the hot weather prevailing across Ukraine, along with cloudy and rainy conditions in parts of the western and central regions, which results in lower efficiency of residential solar power systems.
It was also emphasized that during the evening peak consumption period from 17:00 to 22:00, there is a need for energy conservation and a recommendation against using multiple high-power devices simultaneously.
