The Ukrainian government, in collaboration with the Mariupol city council, is announcing a new housing initiative aimed at individuals who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict. The construction of a new residential quarter will commence in Bila Tserkva.

This was stated by Oleksii Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Funding for the project will come from the budget of the Mariupol community. It is expected that the government will soon approve the necessary decision to begin work.

The first construction phase is planned for this year.

The project includes the construction of three residential complexes. A municipal land plot of approximately 11 hectares has already been allocated for this purpose.

Kuleba noted that the quarter will be developed based on two housing solutions: municipal rental housing for displaced persons, which will be provided under social conditions through a transparent distribution system, and a subsidized mortgage program for Mariupol residents who can purchase homes but require state support. Priority groups will include military personnel, veterans, families of the deceased, large families, and people with disabilities.
