On July 3, 2025, the second group of Ukrainian teenagers and their escorts, who were affected by a terrible accident in France on June 13, arrived in Chernivtsi.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the treatment and care of our children.
We especially want to highlight the coordinated efforts of the Crisis Center of the DKS, the Ukrainian consuls in France, Austria, Hungary, and the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uzhhorod. During these days, they effectively coordinated the efforts of many services and organizations.
We would like to express our gratitude to those who assisted the Ukrainian children:
- Medical professionals from France, Austria, and Ukraine
- Ukrzaliznytsia, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), and the French National Railway Company (SNCF)
- The Prefecture of the Sart Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France
- Ukrainian volunteers
- Regional authorities in Transcarpathia and Chernivtsi
- Representatives of the French Red Cross (Croix-Rouge française)
Our deepest condolences go to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. We also wish a speedy recovery and safe return home to the three Ukrainians who are still receiving treatment in France.
