The German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has arrived on a visit to Ukraine.
This is reported by Spiegel.
On Monday, June 30, he landed in Kyiv, where he intends to hold talks with government representatives.
Upon arrival, he stated that "the freedom and future of Ukraine is the most crucial task" of Germany's foreign and security policy. He also mentioned that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is attempting to subjugate Ukraine through brutal bombings.
Prior to his visit, Wadephul warned against underestimating the threat that Russia poses to Germany.
In a recent speech, he pointed out that the Baltic Sea is a region where the risk of military confrontation "is quite real".
He also expressed concern that the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran distracts attention from Ukraine.
