Kyivstar has improved its My Kyivstar mobile app, making it more accessible for individuals with visual impairments. The app now fully supports screen reading technologies — TalkBack for Android and VoiceOver for iOS.
To create a genuinely inclusive interface, the Kyivstar team conducted comprehensive adaptations: they configured the correct output for elements, added textual descriptions for graphics, and implemented voice prompts for switches, checkboxes, and certain buttons to provide critical information for holistic interface understanding.
The quality of the adaptation has been verified by independent experts from Access Lab, who specialize in digital accessibility. Their recommendations have been partially implemented in the updated version of the app.
This update also reflects the company's conscious European approach to digital inclusivity, as it complies with the European Accessibility Act requirements.
With this enhancement, visually impaired users can independently manage their telecom services: top up their accounts, check their balance, connect to Home Internet, Super Powers, and other services.
