Two Ukrainian veterans with amputations embarked on an incredible journey to the Himalayas.
The expedition featured Ivan Tarn from the "Artan" unit and Oleksandr Dashko from the "Kraken" unit, as reported by the GUR.
They were accompanied by professional climbers Tetyana Yalovchak and Taras Pozdnii. Together, they ascended to the base camp of "Everest," located at an altitude of 5280 meters.
"It's simply unbelievable. I could hardly believe my eyes. It felt like looking at gigantic murals," Ivan shared.
This expedition posed a significant challenge for the veterans.
"Many doubted my abilities due to my amputation. Everyone said that even able-bodied individuals can't reach that height, let alone me without a leg. But I believe other veterans with amputations need to see that life goes on," Oleksandr emphasized.
The journey was organized as part of the "Limitless" project, aimed at raising awareness about the issues faced by veterans with amputations and collecting funds for treatment.
"This journey proves that nothing is impossible for those with a purpose. It's evidence that life continues after amputation," the project statement reads.
Additionally, we previously wrote about Roman Kolesnyk, who lost a leg on the front lines and embarked on a trek through the Carpathians using a prosthetic limb.
