The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal celebrated important holidays - the Day of Embroidery and Family Day on May 15.
The leaders emphasized the significance of embroidery as a symbol of cultural heritage and family values that are relevant in today's world.
Zelensky's Greeting on the Day of Embroidery
“This day is dedicated to our roots and family. Embroidered shirts carry the strength of traditions and history. It is a connection between generations that we must cherish,” Zelensky stated.
He also highlighted the importance of preserving national culture: “We are obliged to pass on the Ukrainian heritage to future generations.”
“Happy Day of Embroidery and Family Day, Ukraine!” added the President.
Shmyhal's Greeting on the Day of Embroidery
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that by wearing embroidery, Ukrainians demonstrate their cultural identity to the world.
“Embroidery is a symbol of resilience of our nation. It shows that we are a nation of strong and free people. Wearing an embroidered shirt means preserving traditions and declaring to the world that Ukraine is alive,” he said.
Shmyhal reminded that the Day of Embroidery is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of May.
