Tonight Ukraine Stands with Ziferblat: First Eurovision 2025 Semifinal

Tonight, May 13, the first semifinal of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in Basel, Switzerland.

The band Ziferblat will represent Ukraine with their song "Bird of Pray," performing in the fifth position.

What to know about the first semifinal of Eurovision 2025?

Ziferblat earned the right to represent the country after winning the National Selection held on February 8, according to Ukrinform.

The musicians scored the highest points among all participants – 19, with 9 points from the jury and 10 from viewers.

The costumes for Ziferblat's performance were designed by the renowned Ukrainian designer Ivan Frolov, who has previously created looks for artists like Tvorchi, Jamala, and Tina Karol.

The live broadcast of the show is set to start at 10:00 PM Kyiv time.

Where to watch Eurovision 2025?

Ukrainians can watch the broadcast on the websites "Suspilne Culture" and "Suspilne Eurovision," as well as on the "Suspilne Culture" TV channel.

The radio broadcast will be provided by "Radio Promin".

The commentary for Ukrainian viewers will be provided by Timur Miroshnychenko, joined by TV presenter Oleksandr Pedan for the first semifinal.

The broadcast of the semifinals and final will have sign language interpretation available on the "Suspilne Eurovision" website. The spokesperson for Ukraine at Eurovision 2025 will be singer and songwriter Jerry Heil, who will announce the points of the National Jury of Ukraine in the final.

Who else is performing in the first semifinal of Eurovision 2025?

Besides Ukraine, the favorite of the bookmakers, a representative from Sweden, will perform.

Countries from the "Big Five" and the host country, which automatically qualify for the final, will also showcase their entries – this evening, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland.

How to vote at Eurovision

As reported by "Suspilne Culture," viewers from participating countries can cast their votes using the official Eurovision app and vote via phone and/or SMS, with the relevant numbers shown on screen during the broadcast.

Another voting option is through the website www.esc.vote (available during the week of live broadcasts). According to contest rules, viewers can vote only in the semifinal in which their country participates, as well as in the final.

Ziferblat will represent Ukraine with their song "Bird of Pray," which was announced back in February.

Ten participants competed in the national selection final, and last year, the winners were representatives of Switzerland.

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in the St. Jakobshalle arena in Basel. The grand final is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, with semifinals on May 13 and 15.
