Before Easter, Kyivstar employees came together for the social initiative "Easter Breads for Defenders." With charitable donations from employees, over 177,000 UAH was raised to produce and deliver 708 Easter breads to one of Ukraine's National Guard units.
This initiative had a dual social purpose: to support Ukrainian soldiers while also aiding an inclusive business, as the breads were baked by Good Bread, a bakery that employs individuals with mental disabilities.
"It is important for us to support initiatives that unite several important values — humanity, solidarity, and care. Collaborating with Good Bread is not just about the bread.
It is about the opportunity to thank our defenders and simultaneously support an inclusive business that provides people with mental challenges with jobs, development, and self-belief.
Such projects are what we aim to scale through corporate volunteering,” commented Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar.
Over 400 employees from Kyivstar, Kyivstar Tech, and Ukraine Tower Company (UTC) participated in the initiative. The Uklon team also joined the project.
The delivery of the breads to the military took place just before Easter, serving as a reminder of gratitude for their defense of Ukraine and bringing a piece of Easter warmth.
Corporate volunteering is part of Kyivstar's social responsibility strategy, which involves regular participation of the company and its employees in important projects for society and the state, including support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assistance to children, and support for hospitals and war victims.
