At the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a solemn ceremony was held to honor women who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine by planting a tulip tree.
The choice of this plant was deliberate, as noted by the organizers, since the tulip tree symbolizes longevity and resilience.
The tree was planted in the area between St. Nicholas Church (building № 25) and the Cells (building № 4) on Lavrska Street, 9.
The event was dedicated to servicewomen, medical professionals, volunteers, and other women who gave their lives for Ukraine.
“We have created a memorial space for Ukrainian women whose lives were taken by war. This tree has become a symbol of our gratitude and shared responsibility.
It is important for us that a symbol of unity emerges here, reflecting our society's desire to preserve the memory of their contributions for future generations,” commented acting director of the Reserve, Svitlana Kotliarevska.
