Brave Gymnast from Chornomorsk Receives Award

Nine-year-old gymnast Alexandra Pascal from Chornomorsk received an award for her personal courage and resilience.

Nine-year-old gymnast Alexandra Pascal from Chornomorsk, who lost her leg due to a Russian shelling, received the state award «Future of Ukraine». This was announced to Alexandra Pascal via Instagram.
The award was presented to the girl by the President of Ukraine and the First Lady.
«For me, this is a great honor and at the same time a great responsibility. Thank you for recognizing my work and for your trust. I promise to continue working with dedication, strength, and love for Ukraine», the athlete wrote.
In May 2022, Sasha Pascal from Odesa was buried under the rubble of a building hit by a Russian missile. The girl spent two weeks in intensive care, and her leg had to be amputated.
Volodymyr Zelensky awarded students and pupils with the «Future of Ukraine» distinction. They were recognized for their personal bravery, courage, resilience, patriotism, active civic engagement, volunteer work, and defense of universal values, national interests of Ukraine, and its worthy future.
