For several days, delegates, deputy mayors, cultural leaders, and politicians gathered to discuss how culture can unite cities and strengthen communities amidst global challenges. The summit, commemorating the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam, was themed 'Stronger Together: Culture in a Changing World'. This event brought together over 200 representatives from the cultural sector — artists, curators, and managers.
Kyiv was represented by council member Victoria Mukha and the director of the Culture Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, Serhiy Anzhiak. Victoria Mukha emphasized that Kyiv's participation in the World Cities Culture Forum is a significant honor and an opportunity for experience exchange.
Key topics included the support of young cultural leaders and the role of art in social healing, as well as how culture can be made accessible to all. Additionally, the impact of art on health and well-being was highlighted.
Furthermore, the Kyiv delegation participated in discussions about memory and identity in cities, exploring how understanding history can help bridge divides and foster shared values. Kyiv's participation in the World Cities Culture Forum 2025 was made possible thanks to support from London, Amsterdam, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
