In Kyiv, a nationwide event called «March for Freedom» took place, dedicated to the European Day against Human Trafficking. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the issue of human trafficking and inform about how to assist victims. This was reported by the Kyiv police.
Participants in the event, held at one of Kyiv's universities, included local police officers, city administration staff, social service representatives, NGOs, educators, and students.
«Combating human trafficking requires the joint efforts of law enforcement, government agencies, and society. Forced labor, sexual exploitation, involvement in criminal activities, and begging are crimes that ensnare those seeking refuge. It is crucial that everyone understands the risks and knows where to turn for help in case of threats,» stated Denis Boykov, Deputy Head of the Migration Police Department in Kyiv.
During the event, law enforcement distributed informational leaflets with advice on preventing human trafficking and hotlines.
If you witness or are a victim of human trafficking in Ukraine, call 102.
