On September 13 and 14, 2025, Kyiv hosted the Spartan Weekend – a grand obstacle race with the mission of supporting the Ukrainian GUR.
The event was organized by the Spartan Race Ukraine community and the charity fund of Diana Podolyanchuk.
Participants competed on three courses: Sprint – 5 kilometers with 20 obstacles, Super – 10 kilometers with 25 obstacles, and Beast – 21 kilometers with 30 obstacles.
To conquer the distance, athletes had to overcome tall barriers, wade through muddy trenches, climb ropes, crawl under barbed wire, and continue running.
The Spartan Weekend also saw participation from para-athletes, including wounded defenders who fought against the aggressor state.
For children, organizers arranged a Kids Competitive race filled with exciting adventures.
During the event, a charity auction took place, featuring valuable lots, including a unique medallion shaped like Snake Island, adorned with stones from the island and signed by General-Lieutenant Kyrylo Budanov.
Funds raised during the charity event will be used to purchase combat boats for active units of the GUR.
"A strong nation means a strong army. Together, we support our reconnaissance warriors and promote Ukrainian sports, which is especially important for the youth," emphasized Yevheniy Yerin, a representative of the GUR.
