Starting Monday, the new school year begins, and public safety inspectors, along with students, have placed informative signs regarding pedestrian traffic rules near educational institutions. This is reported by the Kyiv patrol police.

Officers reminded everyone of the essential rules to follow for a safe trip to school:

• Before crossing the street, stop. Make sure the driver sees you and has stopped;
• Always look both ways: first left, then right;
• Remove headphones and avoid using gadgets while crossing the street;
• Hold your child's hand;
• While waiting for the green light, stay a bit away from the road.

Drivers must be especially vigilant on the roads. “Dear drivers, please be extremely careful when passing by educational institutions, especially when children are on their way to school! Take care and follow these simple rules!” the police urged.
