The Swedish government has made a decision to finance the establishment of a specialized center in Ukraine for the rehabilitation of injured military personnel.

This information was released by the press service of the Swedish government.

The center will be an essential part of an initiative that NATO and Ukraine have been implementing over the past two years.

The primary goal of this initiative is to provide effective rehabilitation for military personnel so they can return to service in the Armed Forces or adapt to civilian life.

"Ukraine is fighting not only for its independence but also for our security. Continuing support in this struggle is a key task of modern security policy," stated Sweden's Minister of Civil Defense Karl-Oscar Bolin.

Health Minister Ako Ankarberg Johansson emphasized that such support is extremely relevant.

"This assistance will also be a vital component of reforming and modernizing the Ukrainian healthcare system. I am grateful for the opportunity to use Swedish expertise to improve the situation in Ukraine," she added.

The task set by the Swedish government includes the modernization of existing facilities, the procurement of modern rehabilitation medical equipment, and training medical personnel in the fields of traumatology and psychological rehabilitation.

The implementation of this project will take place from July 2025 to July 2027.
