Renowned composer Igor Poklad has passed away at the age of 84.

This heartbreaking news was shared on Facebook by his wife, Svitlana Poklad.

"And it’s all over... I loved, I love, and I will always love... Please pray for Igor Dmytrovych... For his immortal soul..." - she wrote.

Igor Poklad was a prominent Ukrainian composer and opera master, a Hero of Ukraine, a recipient of the Shevchenko Prize, an Honored Artist of Ukraine, a People's Artist of the USSR and Ukraine, and a member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

He is the author of famous songs such as "Beloved," "Two Wings," "Magic Violin," and "Wild Geese."

In August 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Igor Poklad with the title of "National Legend of Ukraine."
