The capital hosted a book presentation that highlights the contributions of Ukrainian women in defending their homeland.

With the support of the city authorities, the publishing house «Phoenix» released the novel «Khrystena» by Lyudmyla Okhrimenko, based on the experiences of medic Tetiana Tepliuk (call sign Khrystena) from the 12th Special Forces Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine «Azov».

«Today, we proudly present this book, which is the result of collaboration with the Kyiv City Council as part of the civil society development program. This is a story about real events related to our heroine's military life. We always strive to support such projects,» said Myroslava Smirnova, Director of the Department of Public Communications and Kyiv City Council member.

Myroslava also thanked everyone involved in creating the book.

«Today, we have the honor of being alongside our heroine, Ms. Tetiana Tepliuk. You are a beacon of hope for all of us in the fight against the enemy and in the development of our country,» added the director.

The presentation took place within the framework of the unity platform «Strong Together».

The main character of the novel, Tetiana, has endured fierce battles in Mariupol, Azovstal, and other locations. The book provides answers to questions about her sources of strength.

For Lyudmyla Okhrimenko, this is her second book dedicated to Ukraine’s defenders, and she expressed gratitude to Tetiana for her patience and cooperation.

«Let us together protect our beautiful land! So much young blood has already been shed for it, and we see how many wonderful warriors, both men and women, are ready to stand in defense,» emphasized Tetiana Tepliuk.

The novel «Khrystena» by Lyudmyla Okhrimenko, a laureate of the international competition «Crowning of the Word - 2021», is now available in all libraries of the capital and is not for sale.
