On Monday, April 14, the United Kingdom transferred £752 million ($990 million) to Ukraine as part of the G7 loan mechanism using frozen Russian assets.

According to "European Truth" citing Reuters, this latest British tranche is the second of three planned payments totaling £2.26 billion. The first payment took place on March 6 and amounted to £752 million.

The remaining funds are expected to be disbursed in 2026.

UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves commented, "The world is changing before our eyes, reshaped by global instability, particularly Russian aggression in Ukraine."

It is worth noting that in 2024, the G7 agreed to jointly provide a loan of $50 billion to Ukraine from Russian assets, which will be formally provided as a loan but repaid through income from frozen Russian assets.

At the end of December 2024, Ukraine received the first tranche from the USA of the planned $20 billion, and in January 2025, the first €3 billion from the EU.
