The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has released the results of the activities of three out of four main sectors of the real economy for 2024.

This was reported by the chairman of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danilo Getmantsev.

He mentioned that the report was published with nearly a two-month delay (it should have been finalized by the end of January).

Regarding transport, freight transport increased by 7.8%, passengers by 6.8%, freight turnover by 13.0%, and passenger turnover by 10.1% (in 2023, the figures were +3.4%, +27.3%, -2.0%, +26.5% respectively).

"Thus, the situation improved in the freight segment, while it slowed down in the passenger segment," remarked Getmantsev.

  • Construction: volumes increased by 15.5% (in 2023 – by 25.0%).
  • Industry: production grew by 3.6% (in 2024 – by 6.8%).

"The slowdown in the recovery pace (especially in the last two sectors) raises concerns. If the construction sector can reach pre-war levels by 2029, the industry will only reach them a decade later, in 2035," the deputy noted.

He believes that the Ministry of Economy needs to make serious adjustments to its branding program "Made in Ukraine", as the state urgently needs acceleration, not deceleration, in the recovery of its key sectors.
