During the ReBuild Ukraine conference in Warsaw, significant agreements were signed between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank, allocating €75 million for critical infrastructure restoration in the country.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine reported that this funding includes a €25 million grant aimed at modernizing water supply and sewage systems in affected areas.
This grant will enhance the quality of drinking water and strengthen the resilience of infrastructure.
Additionally, €50 million will be dedicated to creating social rental housing, marking the first step towards implementing a new model of municipal housing in Ukraine. The establishment of a Social Rental Housing Fund is planned, in line with European standards.
The agreements were signed by representatives of the European Investment Bank and the Ukrainian Ministry, highlighting the close cooperation between the parties in the country's recovery.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Parliament reviewed a draft law that outlines the legal foundations for establishing a social housing fund, which will enable specific categories of citizens, including internally displaced persons and individuals with disabilities, to access new housing.
