Ukraine has received 73.7 million euros from the European Union for the development of the euro-track "Sknyliv-Mostyska".
A ceremonial signing of the grant agreement with the EU took place in Uzhhorod for the Ukrzaliznytsia project «Mostyska–Sknyliv», selected under the CEF program.
The Director-General of the European Commission for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Magda Kopczynska, officially handed over the agreement to Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
The project aims to construct a euro-track in Lviv region, significantly enhancing transport connectivity with the EU.
According to Kuleba's comments to Ukrinform, the plan is to build a European standard railway track of 1435 mm from the border of Poland and Ukraine to Sknyliv near Lviv, creating a direct connection compatible with TEN-T between Ukraine and the EU.
"From our side, we will also finance this project from the state budget to complete the construction of 70 km of the euro-track by the end of 2027," Kuleba stated.
He added that this would improve connections with the EU.
"This is the removal of barriers between Ukraine and the EU, and it also signifies a clear continuation of our EU integration," Kuleba remarked.
He also mentioned that the funding format for the project is 50% from the European Commission and 50% from the Ukrainian budget.
Mostyska-Sknyliv is the first of four projects planned under the single project "Euro-Track Mostyska – Lviv".

Reminder: On September 5, the euro-track Uzhhorod-Chop, spanning 22 kilometers, was opened in Transcarpathia, allowing direct passenger trains between Ukraine and EU countries, including Budapest, Vienna, and Bratislava, while also reducing travel time.
