The draft budget for 2026 includes updates to the minimum wage and living wage.
These figures are being adjusted for the first time since 2024. They were not revised in 2025:
- minimum wage increased from 8000 UAH to 8647 UAH (an increase of 8%);
- overall living wage rose from 2920 UAH to 3209 UAH (+9.9%);
- living wage for working individuals increased from 3028 UAH to 3328 UAH (+9.9%);
- living wage for those who lost their ability to work rose from 2361 UAH to 2595 UAH (+9.9%).
The last figure determines the minimum size of the pension. The maximum pension in 2026 will be 25,950 UAH.
It should be noted that as of July 1, the average pension in Ukraine was 6,410.2 UAH. Compared to April 1, it has increased by 1.1% (+69 UAH) and is 10.2% (+593.6 UAH) higher than in the same period last year. The government did not raise social standards in 2025 as it would impose a significant burden on the budget, and necessary funds were not found, as reported by the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
