In 2024, Ukraine ranked third globally in honey export volumes, delivering 85.8 thousand tons.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club.

According to the data, China took first place among the top honey exporters in 2024 with 169.6 thousand tons, followed by India with 94.8 thousand tons and Ukraine with 85.8 thousand tons. Argentina with 78.1 thousand tons and Vietnam with 48.2 thousand tons also made the list.

«The cancellation of tariffs and fees on Ukrainian exports by the European Union has opened up profitable export opportunities for Ukrainian beekeepers,» specialists explained.

Last year, the largest buyers of Ukrainian honey were Germany, importing 18.9 thousand tons, the USA with 12.1 thousand tons, Poland with 9.7 thousand tons, France with 9.6 thousand tons, and Belgium with 7.1 thousand tons.

Additionally, Ukrainian honey was also supplied to markets in Turkey, the UK, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Qatar, and Jordan.

However, the reintroduction of export quotas in 2025 poses additional challenges for honey exports to the European Union.

Analysts noted that although the quotas exceed previous levels, they still do not cover the full export potential of Ukraine. Nonetheless, this measure is significant and helps domestic producers remain competitive in the European market, which is crucial for the sales of Ukrainian honey.
