In the first half of 2023, the trade volume of agricultural products between Ukraine and the European Union decreased by 0.6 billion USD, which is a 7% reduction. The total volume now stands at 7.6 billion USD.
This information was provided by Mykola Puhachov, Deputy Director of the "Institute of Agricultural Economics" and a member of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences.
According to him, the positive balance has shrunk to 3.2 billion USD, amid a decrease in exports by 0.9 billion USD and an increase in imports by 0.2 billion USD.
Key trading partners for Ukraine in the agricultural sector within the EU include Poland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, and France, noted the researcher.
He also added that the total trade volume with these countries accounts for about 73% of all agricultural exports.
