Between July 7 and 11, Ukraine saw its electricity imports double, reaching 44 thousand MWh. At the same time, exports dropped to 32.2 thousand MWh.
This information is provided by ExPro monitoring.
The highest import volumes are recorded during peak load evening hours.
"Currently, imports during peak hours can exceed 1 GW, which significantly contributes to stability. Under the current circumstances, imports may again be a crucial component for the energy system during peak consumption periods," analysts report.
They add that "the necessity for long-term projected imports brings to the forefront the development of auctions for access to cross-border exchanges."
