The counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has detained another Russian agent within the ranks of the Ukrainian military. This individual was mobilized from Dnipro and was involved in directing airstrikes for the aggressor.
Investigations revealed that he was recruited by an FSB officer in the fall of 2025. He came to the attention of the occupiers by posting pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram.
After recruitment, the agent was mobilized to a rear military unit in the region to spy for Russia from within.
Per FSB instructions, he was tasked with relaying the coordinates of the temporary locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard units, which the enemy was preparing to target with missile and drone attacks.
To achieve this, the perpetrator filmed military facilities and marked their geolocations.
Shortly after completing his espionage tasks, he deserted the military unit and provided its location to the FSB.
The Security Service uncovered the spy and documented his activities step by step. Simultaneously, measures were taken to secure the positions of the defense forces.
In the final stage of the special operation, he was detained at the home of his relatives, where he had been hiding from justice.
During searches, a smartphone containing evidence of his collaboration with the enemy was seized.
Investigators from the Security Service have informed the agent of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is currently in custody, facing a life sentence with asset confiscation.
Comprehensive measures were conducted by SBU officers in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
