Murder in Kyiv: 34-Year-Old Man Found Dead

A suspect has been detained in Kyiv for murder, facing up to 15 years in prison.

Investigators have charged an individual with intentional murder, who now faces a sentence of up to fifteen years in prison.
The Kyiv police received a report from medical staff regarding the discovery of a man’s body with signs of violent death in a high-rise building on Antonovicha Street. A forensic team from the Holosiivskyi police department was dispatched to the scene.
Law enforcement officials determined that the deceased was a 34-year-old local resident who had visited a friend the previous day. In the evening, another guest joined their gathering, and a conflict soon arose between the men, escalating into a fight.
The assailant seized metal handcuffs found in the apartment and strangled the victim before fleeing the scene. Operatives from the territorial unit, along with colleagues from the capital’s main department and crime analysis sector analysts, quickly identified and apprehended the suspect. He turned out to be a 33-year-old man from Chernivtsi, who had recently moved to the capital.
Investigators detained the suspect in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and informed him of the charge under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional murder. Currently, the suspect is in custody and faces up to fifteen years in prison.
