In Prykarpattia, near Halych, a bus was involved in an accident on the road «Mukachevo-Lviv». As a result, one person died and eight others were injured.
This was reported by the Police of Ivano-Frankivsk region on Facebook.
«On November 17, around 7 a.m., the police received a report of an accident with casualties near Halych. The incident occurred on the state highway N-09 «Mukachevo–Lviv» involving a «Mercedes Sprinter» and a «Volkswagen Tiguan». As a result of the collision, a 67-year-old passenger of the bus died at the scene, while about eight people sustained various degrees of injury,» the police stated.
According to their information, the injured were hospitalized.
It is noted that the driver of the car was a 64-year-old resident of the Kolomyia district, who was heading towards Burshtyn.
«The man drove into the oncoming lane, causing a collision with a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old resident of the Bolekhiv community,» the police clarified.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all circumstances of the accident at the scene.
