The Security Service of Ukraine has revealed a new terror threat in Kyiv by disrupting the plans of Russian intelligence. According to the investigation, the enemy was preparing a series of contract killings and explosions in crowded locations of the capital.
Thanks to the timely actions of the SBU, these intentions were thwarted and the organizer's identity was established, residing in temporarily occupied Crimea and collaborating with Russian forces.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was seeking like-minded individuals to create an agent network for the FSB.
Among them were his acquaintances with Ukrainian citizenship who were not subject to mobilization.
The Security Service documented the attempt to smuggle an agent to Kyiv, who crossed the border through third countries.
Upon arrival in the capital, the agent received coordinates to retrieve a firearm.
It was established that the suspect was tasked with assassinating a media figure and preparing terrorist acts in several shopping centers and a subway station. The agents received instructions for making explosives hidden in backpacks.
Each explosive device was to be activated using a mobile phone during peak hours.
In this way, the enemy aimed to destabilize the situation in the capital.
The Security Service documented all contacts between the suspect and the FSB through a resident from Crimea.
Currently, the investigation has issued charges against the resident under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  •  Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason in wartime);
  •  Part 2 of Article 258 (terrorist act);
  •  Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons).

As the suspect is located in an occupied territory, measures are ongoing to hold him accountable.
Investigations are underway regarding all participants in the FSB network.
